Why this bottle
Coonawarra Shiraz occupies useful middle ground: the ripeness of South Australia with a savoury, peppery edge the limestone country supplies. Blackberry, cake spice, cedar, game and dark chocolate lead the nose, then black olive, clove, blackberry and plum fill a plump, silky-tannined palate. It finishes long and opulent with terrific persistence. Sam Kim scored it 95 points, Ken Gargett 93.
