Why this bottle
This is Cabernet doing what Coonawarra does best — blackcurrant and cedar on the nose, then layers of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and subtle spice with oak folded in rather than sitting on top. Sam Kim found cassis, vanilla, roasted hazelnut, cigar and mixed spice, with excellent weight, a fleshy texture and refined chalky tannins. Drinking well now and holding comfortably to 2035.
