Why this bottle
Since 1952 Schild hands have tended some of the Barossa's most treasured old vines, and Edel is where that inheritance is expressed most completely. Deep crimson, packed with Doris plum, black cherry and boysenberry, then dried cranberry, baking spice, licorice, fruit-and-nut chocolate, tapenade, violets and roasting meats. Full-bodied with compact, powdery tannins and fine acidity, and red plum notes flowing in to add detail. Halliday puts it to 2038, Jordan to 2044.
